The True Meaning of Christmas

As I was responding to some kind comments regarding my Snow Village, I stumbled upon a post made by Pat at her blog Gypsy Heart regarding the true meaning of Christmas.  I was intrigued and clicked on the link.  It was very touching and I felt like it would be perfect to share to everyone participating in Spiritual Sunday.  Here is the link: The True Meaning of Christmas.  Enjoy and thank you again Pat for sharing.

Our Tree Adventure

With Meg being a senior and this being her last year home for the whole Christmas season, she wanted to return to a tree farm we have visited years ago with her and her sister to find our tree.  We agreed, of course, and headed out this past cold and dreary Saturday.

We arrived at the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm and jumped on the tractor pulled "hayride."  My hubby thought it would be a great time to take a picture.  Yep, that's me hiding my face in the background.

When we jumped off they were off to find the perfect tree. As for me, I walked around and took some pictures of the scenery.

They were on a quest to find the perfect tree which meant walking up and down lots of rows of trees, many too small or too big.

Then Meg found our tree!

She was a trooper and wanted to help cut down the tree.

She's just a little too small to get the job done.  Thank goodness daddy was there to finish the job.

With a little team effort we went home with a great tree.

Our House at Christmas

The outside is the first thing we decorated this year.  We kept it simple.  Spotlights light up the exterior so you can see the wreaths on the windows, deer in the front bed and extra large nutcrackers on the front porch.  The most time consuming project was getting the garland around the entry door to stay up!

Our Little Snow Village

So far, we have put managed to put up the village and nutcracker collection.  I will be posting all our other Christmas decorations this weekend and next week.  I usually feel the need to have everything done by the Sunday after Thanksgiving, however this year I have been so busy that decorating (unfortunately) has taken the backseat.  Even so, I am determined to get it all up and looking beautiful!
