A Bend in the Road

Sometimes we come to life's crossroads
And we view what we think is the end.
But God has a much wider vision
And he knows that it's only a bend-

The road will go on and get smoother
And after we've stopped for a rest,
The path that lies hidden beyond us
Is often the path that is best.

So rest and relax and grow stronger,
Let go and let God share your load
And have faith in a brighter tomorrow-
You've just come to a bend in the road.

A Cute Tea Invitation

My daughter is a member of her high school drill team.  Every year they officially introduce the new freshman to the team at a formal Tea. This year the invitation was so cute that I thought I would share the idea.

The "tea bag" had printed on it the date, time, and location of the event and fit into the tea cup.

The tab that the tea bag was attached to and difficult to see, included the the name of the event, the year and a cute picture of the ever so famous shoes the girls wear.

Homecoming 2009

Our youngest was asked to homecoming by her boyfriend this past week. At the school they attend it's a big deal for the boys to come up with a creative way to ask the girls. He had his friends wrap him in a refigerator box and place it outside the drill team practice room. When she came out, with all her friends after practice she saw the box with a big sign with her name on it taped on the outside. She unwrapped the box and opened it to find Kyle standing there with balloons and flowers. He then asked her to homecoming. They came over afterwards and I snapped a couple of pictures to capture the moment.

HOPEfully a few will run across this and feel inspired to keep on fighting whatever battles they may be encountering in their lives.

Little Acts Make a Difference in the World

I teach young children and live by this quote. Everyday I think we should remember to do "small things" for the people around us. I believe these small acts make this world a better place to live.

Fall is Finally Here!

I just began to decorate for fall, below are a few pictures. I am waiting for October, however, to bring out all my Halloween stuff that I have. Even though my girls are almost grown I still find it fun to put out seasonal decorations. I think they still like them as well, or at least that's what I tell myself. Happy Fall Y'All!

That's it until October when I'll be bringing out all the Halloween things. Halloween decorations make up most of my fall decorations. It's my favorite holiday, besides Christmas, to decorate!  Click HERE to see our home at Halloween.
