Our California Trip ~ Day 4 Oct. 19th Venus Beach, Los Angeles & Disney

We had breakfast at the Sidewalk Cafe on Venus Beach while being entertained by a street performer on the boardwalk.

One of the very unique places we visited were the canals in Venus. Below are some pictures I snapped as we walked the canals.







An architect named Abbot Kinney origianally had 16 miles of canals dug in the early 1900's. Today, only three of the orignial six canals remain. Many of the original homes have been replaced by larger, beautiful homes as pictured below.















Some other residents we ran across as we walked along the canals.













Later that morning we drove past my childhood home in Burbank. To my surprise, it looked almost just as it did thirty years ago.







Then we headed to Disneyland, I got in free for my birthday!

Our California Trip ~ Day 5 Oct. 20th

On on our final full day in California we drove down the Pacific Coast Highway back to San Diego. Our first stop along the way was at Laguna. The views were beautiful as you can see from the pictures below.














We briefly stopped at the Oceanside Pier, one of the longest wooden piers in California. It has a Ruby's at the end of it!




I loved Del Mar, it was my favorite beach town on our drive.












We stopped in Pacific Beach so my husband could get a taco from Surf Taco.





In La Jolla we found a beach where the sea lions like to lounge around.







We ended our last night with dinner at The Fish Market. We got there early enough to get a seat out on the deck and then watch the sunset.



I couldn't wait to have a great seafood dinner and I wasn't disappointed.  I had the local spiny lobster, yummy!



The sunset from our patio table was beautiful.









The perfect end to a wonderful vacation. Can't wait to go back!
