Senior Collage

It has been and remains crazy at our house and I have had no time to do much of anything.  Meg had her Highstepper senior banquet last weekend and it was a touching and wonderful event.  Good news is I held it together, not sure when I will loose it but I'm sure when it happens it won't be pretty.   So, the weeks leading up to her banquet were all about getting a dress and making "THE COLLAGE."  Each Highstepper makes one to be displayed at the banquet.  It's a great idea and lovely keepsake but putting it together was quite time consuming.  Despite the time, patience, and money needed to create this collage it's a great keepsake and a fabulous snapshot as her years as a Highstepper.

The frame we used was from Aaron Brothers.

The mat was custom made at Hobby Lobby, which included her name, year of graduation and a place for her senior Highstepper picture...uniform and all!

The most time consuming part of the project was choosing and scanning of what seemed like hundreds of pictures.  Then, using tiny scissors Meg and I cut out pictures and began the task of overlapping and securing the pictures around the outside mat.  It was tough, but Meg and I worked as a team and finally got it done...about 45 minutes before we were suppose to be at the banquet with it!  Here's the final product:

It took about 50 pictures to cover the outside mat.  We used double sided tape to attach the pictures, even the tiny ones.  It was a huge project but well worth it in the end.  It was displayed at the banquet and now is waiting to be hung somewhere special in our house.
